  • PRIVACY STATEMENT

At Rudolf Steiner Press, we take your privacy very seriously. In this Privacy Policy, we've provided detailed information on when and why we collect your Personal Data, how we use it, the limited conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure.

    Data Protection

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 1998, we are legally obliged to keep secure any information you give us. We have strict security procedures in place and we will not pass your data on to anyone else.

    What information do we collect?

We collect several kinds of information from this website:

    • order and payment details for orders
    • details for additions to our mailing list
    • server log files

In order to place an order via our website you must provide your name, address, phone number, and email address. We will not pass these details on to any company other than the payment provider Secure Trading and our distributor BookSource, who will deliver your order. Booksource’s privacy policy can be found here. All transaction information relating to payment for your order will be processed securely by Secure Trading, whose Privacy Policy can be viewed here.

    Use of personal data

You can access our website without providing Personal Data. However, some services require you to provide information for us. These cases are explained below. In these situations, if you withhold any Personal Data requested by us, it may not be possible for you to complete a task on the website e.g. purchasing a product or registering for our mailing list.

    Mailing list

If you register for our emailing list, some personal information needs to be submitted:

    • your name
    • your email address

    We use that information to:

    • contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information
    • check if our records are correct

This information is held securely until you unsubscribe from our mailing list. We don't rent or trade email lists with other organisations or businesses. We use the MailChimp service to store this data and to deliver our email newsletters. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our emails to you. For more information, please see MailChimp's privacy notice.

If you are subscribed to our print mailing lists, we will send your personal information (name and address) to a third party mailing company, to complete this mailing on our behalf. Your data will be transferred securely and will only be used for the purpose of completing this mailing.

You can unsubscribe to mailings at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing us at office@rudolfsteinerpress.com.

    Log files

Log files allow us to record visitors' use of the website. This information is used to improve the website in the future. Log files do not contain any personal information.

    Credit/debit card transaction and security

For your security, authorisation on all orders will be checked with the credit card company before books are despatched. Additionally, Secure Trading’s secure server software is industry standard and encrypts all your payment details, including credit/debit card number, name on card and expiry date.

    Cookies

Our website only uses cookies – specifically the “session cookie” – to hold your order information and to maintain the flow of data during your online shopping session. The session cookie is emptied when you complete your purchase and deleted when you close your web browser.

Our website does not include any “tracking” or “profiling” cookies or any third-party cookies.
